Author's POV
Love doesn't come by calling; it's a strange feeling that can't be controlled, and it's hard to confess. People say, "Jodiya upar se ban ke aati hai," so, has Avyan and Riahana's jodi also come from above? Who will confess first and feel this emotion first? I shouldn't reveal or give spoilers. Just enjoy because I don't want to ruin it.
------
AVYAN'S POV
I woke up in the morning and did all my chores. I am now used to it. I don't need an alarm to wake me up; I have a habit of getting up early since school time. But I also have to wake Sid because he won't get up until he hears a loud shout.
"Sid, get up, it's 7:00 now," I said when he just changed his position.
"Hmm, bus 5 min aur!" he replied.
He has been saying this for an hour.
"Sidharth, tu yeh cheez 1 ghante se bol raha hai, ab toh uth jaa!" I said.
"Arre bhai, sone dena, Advi ke sapne aa rahe yaar!" he replied.
So Advika is our friend, and Sid has had a big crush on her since day one. I think maybe she also has feelings for Sid, but they don't confess. I mean, if you love someone, why don't you just confess it? What's so hard about it?
Author: Abhi aage dekhte hai Avyan kisko confess karna hard lagta hai.
"Sid, yeh toh sirf sapne hai, college jayega toh shakshat dekhne ko milegi tujhe teri Advika. Esliye jaldi uth aur ready ho jaa, chal come on!," I said.
"Haan, yaar, yeh baat toh sahi kahi tune. College mein toh woh samne hogi, mujhe accha dikhna hoga. Jaldi ready hota hoon. Aur dekh, time 7:15 ho gaye. Pehle nahi utha sakta tha mujhe, huh?" Sid said.
"Kya tujhe pata nahi hai tujhe main 1 ghante se utha raha hoon!" I replied.
"Haan, toh yeh Advika wali line pehle nahi bol sakta tha pagal. Ab hatt samne se, mujhe nahane jana hai!" Sid said in an annoying tone and moved towards the washroom.
"Thik hai bhai, ab kal se tujhe Advika ki aarti gaa ke uthaunga main!" I said, matching his tone.
"Haan yeh thik rahega!" he said while closing the door of the washroom.
I chuckled, raising my eyebrows, and moved towards the hall.
------
I was yawning just then when Sid came and sat on the opposite side of the dining table as we were having breakfast.
"Kya hua bhai, neend poori nahi hui kya?" Sid asked, seeing me yawning.
"Haan, kal raat zara late neend aayi!" I replied.
"Haan haan, kaise aayegi neend apne padosi se dhyaan hatte tab toh!" he said in a teasing tone and smirked.
"Sid yaar, don't start all over again. Breakfast kar aur chal jaldi, nahi toh roz ki tarah hum tere vajah se late ho jayenge!" I said, shutting him up.
"Haan karle, karle topic change, but dekhna, ek din tu hi din bhar uski baatein karta firega!" Sid said in the same tone as earlier.
"Kya? Main kyun karunga Riahana ki baatein, huh?" I yelled.
"Oh bhai, chill yaar. But maine toh Riahana ka naam nahi liya?" Sid said, acting innocent.
Oh yeah, he didn't take her name, but her name was on my lips. I don't know why!
"Haan, woh... Tu mujhe uski ke naam se irritate karta hai, esliye bas maine bol diya. Aur ab chal time ho gaya hai!" I said.
He nodded and we both went to college.
------
Riahana's POV
I was woken up by a ringing on my phone. No, it was not my alarm because I had set it for 6:00 am. It was a call from my mom, of course, who was calling me since long but I kept cutting it, thinking it's my alarm. Yeah, it sounds stupid but I am a heavy sleeper. Even if a lion comes and roars in front of me, I would still say, "5 minute aur sone do, please!"
Then suddenly, instead of cutting another call from my mom, I accidentally picked it because my eyes were not open.
"RIAHANA........." I woke up with a jerk after listening to a loud voice that called my name. It came from my phone and I realized that I had picked up the call, and it was none other than my mom.
Honestly, now I am very used to it because even at home, I used to wake up after my mom shouted my name with her full intensity. But still, I got scared because I didn't expect it to happen here.
"Riahana... Sun bhi rahi hai ya phir se sone chali gayi?" Mom scolded me.
"Kk... Kaun so raha hai, main toh nahi so rahi!" I lied, trying to defend myself.
"Accha, fir phone kyun cut rahi thi baar baar?" Mom asked, still in a strict tone.
"Kya? Phone cut rahi thi, main? Nahi toh!" I said while looking at my phone to check if she really called me and realized yeah, she called me almost 20 times and I cut all. Oh my god, now I am dead...
"Haan, dekh le dekh. Ab pata chala kitne baar call kiya tha! Abhi bhi jhooth bolegi?" Mom said.
And I was surprised at how she got to know that I was checking my phone.
"Arre maa, thik hai na. Ek din thoda late uthe toh kya ho gaya. Kal raat ko late neend aayi thi!" I said in a defending tone.
"Kyun? Late neend kyun aayi thi? Pakka koi series dekhne baith gayi hogi!" Mom said.
"No mummy!" I said.
"Accha, fir neend late kyun aayi?" she asked.
I started remembering that I was so lost in the thought of somebody that I forgot to sleep. Now you know who is this somebody. And I smiled, now again, don't know why I smiled!
"Hello? Fir so gayi? College nahi jaana kya? Time dekha hai kya ho raha hai?" Mom asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Oh ho mummy, abhi toh bahut time...." I paused, looking at the clock which showed 7:40. My college starts at 8:00. Shit, I am in trouble now. I only have 20 minutes left. Oh Kanha, I don't want to get late on the first day of my college!
"Time nahi hai...." I completed while cutting my mom's call and rushing towards the washroom.
After 10 minutes, I came out, still in a hurry because I just have 10 more minutes. Thank God, I had already picked out my outfit for the day.
I quickly got ready and went to my most favorite place, of course, my Kanha! He is the one who always helped me and showed me the right path. I know I am getting late, but still, I can't miss this. Taking blessings from Kanha Ji before going somewhere is so important for me.
"Kanha Ji, please aaj mere college ka first day hai. Please aaj kuch galat na hone dena. Jaisa socha hai, waisa hi ho. Baaki toh sab aapko pata hi hai, mujhe kya chahiye."I prayed to Kanha Ji.
Kanha Ji be like - Ha ha, jo nahi socha ab toh bhi hoga beta!
After praying, I instantly went to college.
------
The college campus hummed with the lively chatter of students, their voices blending with the faint strains of music and the occasional burst of laughter. Riahana arrived a bit late, her eyes lighting up as she caught sight of the festive atmosphere unfolding before her. Intrigued by the sounds and activity, she followed the throng of students towards a vibrant area where a stage stood adorned with colorful lights and an enthusiastic anchor engaging the audience.
Drawn by her natural curiosity and love for such events, Riahana found herself clapping along with the crowd, swept up in the infectious energy of the college fest.
Suddenly, a gentle tap on her shoulder pulled her out of her reverie. Turning around, she faced a girl holding a box.
"Hey, could you please take this box to the rehearsal room?" the girl requested urgently.
"But why me? I'm new here," Riahana replied, slightly taken aback.
"It's urgent! I have to go. These are props for the next dance performance," the girl explained quickly, handing over the box before rushing off.
Left with no choice, Riahana hurried towards what she presumed was the rehearsal room. Pushing open the door, she entered a space filled with mirrors and scattered dance props, where a group of dancers rehearsed their moves.
"I guess this must be it," Riahana muttered to herself, eyeing the various prop areas.
Navigating through the room, her attention was drawn to the rhythmic movements of the dancers. In her haste, Riahana accidentally bumped into a girl dressed in a striking dance outfit. The cardboard box she carried toppled over, and paint bottles meant for face makeup spilled onto the girl's dress, creating a colorful mess that instantly drew everyone's attention.
Kiara Oberoi, the college's renowned dance sensation known for her boldness and fierce attitude, stood before her, glaring at the paint stains on her dress.
"What the FUCK !" Kiara exclaimed, her voice cutting through the sudden silence.
"I'm so sorry! It was an accident," Riahana apologized quickly, her eyes widening in shock at the unintended chaos.
"Shut up! , What do you think by saying sorry you will make everything right?" Kiara snapped, her tone sharp with irritation.
"I know , I can't make things right but.." Riahana was about to say further but was interrupted.
"What but ? Do you even realise what you have done?" Kiara shouted.
"I know I messed up, but you were so engrossed in your phone that you didn't see me," Riahana retorted, her own voice rising with frustration.
"Excuse me? And now you're blaming me, you pretty useless and stupid girl ?" Kiara scoffed incredulously.
"Um, hello? First of all you are no one to say this to me and I'm not blaming anyone! But you were definitely not paying attention," Riahana shot back, her patience wearing thin.
"Oh guys can you see the irony of the situation? This stupid girl is now teaching me! , Do you even know who I am?" Kiara said sarcastically.
"Yeah, I know you very well, you're a girl who is so full of herself that she can't even accept her fault!" Riahana replied matching her tone. And staring straight into her eyes.
Their heated exchange drew whispers from the surrounding students, who watched with growing interest.
"Wow, she's actually standing up to Kiara!"
"Nobody's ever talked back to her like this before!"
The unexpected confrontation left Kiara momentarily stunned, a rare sight that few had witnessed before. She was feeling insulting.
"You don't know that you have made the biggest mistake of your life by insulting me ! Now you have to face the consequences." Riahana said, anger evident in her eyes.
"Oh really, what will you do?" Riahana asked, raising her eyebrows and folding her arms around her chest.
"Just see!!" Kiara replied, grabbing Riahana's hand with a jolt.
Riahana's eyes widened in shock, unsure of what Kiara intended to do. Kiara moved confidently towards the stage, leaving Riahana's hand with a thud that made her tremble at a distance. As Kiara's commanding presence took the stage, the entire college fell into a hushed curiosity, whispers spreading like wildfire.
Kiara snatched the mic from the host's hand, her voice cutting through the murmurs. "I know you all are shocked to see me like this, but there's a reason behind it!" She announced, pointing an accusatory finger towards Riahana. All eyes turned towards Riahana, who stood rooted to the spot, her heart racing with uncertainty.
"And what's your name?" Kiara asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Riahana," she replied, meeting Kiara's gaze head-on.
"That's right, Riahana," Kiara continued, her voice carrying across the stunned audience. "Yeah, Riahana here thought it would be fun to ruin my dress just before my performance and now I can't dance like this, can I? But don't worry, you won't be bored. Riahana here will compensate for her mistake by performing for us!"
Riahana's jaw dropped in disbelief. "What? How can I?" she protested, her voice filled with shock and apprehension.
No, no, no! You must!" Kiara interrupted mockingly. "Or else we'll all be bored, won't we?"
The audience murmured louder, curious about what was to come. Advika and her friends were among the crowd, exchanging astonished looks. Avyan and Sidharth, still confused but intrigued, joined the growing audience.
Turning off the mic momentarily, Kiara leaned closer to Riahana. "What happened? Lost your confidence all of a sudden?" she whispered tauntingly.
"Wait, isn't that Riahana? Is she in our college only? And What's she doing on stage with Kiara?" Avyan whispered, genuinely surprised.
"Yeah, did something happen? You know Kiara wouldn't do this without a reason," Sidharth murmured back, concern etched on his face.
Riahana shot a glare at Kiara, who smirked confidently before leaving the stage, her mission seemingly accomplished.

With the entire college gathered around, observing from the sidelines, Riahana felt the pressure mounting. Taking a deep breath, she tied her hair into a tight bun, steeling herself for what lay ahead.
As the pulsating beats of the song "Illegal Weapon 2.0" filled the air, Riahana's posture shifted into a confident stance. Her eyes focused, her movements synchronized perfectly with the rhythm that electrified the atmosphere.
Ankh surme se bharke taiyaar ki..
Kheech kheech ke nishane hu mai maarti..
With each beat, Riahana unleashed a flurry of sharp, precise movements, blending hip-hop swag with her own unique flair. Her body seemed to speak a language of its own, punctuating the air with controlled pops and locks that drew gasps and cheers from the audience.
Khud jayda tu umeed mat rakh soneya..
Jayda tu umeed mat rakh soneya..
Tera level nhi mere yaar varga..
Dressed in casual yet stylish attire, she effortlessly commanded the stage, her expressions alternating between playful confidence and fierce determination. Each step resonated with the song's infectious energy, and her footwork was as sharp as the lyrics that echoed through the floor .
Mundeya nu suli utte tangi rakhda ve...
Mera nakhra hai teekhi talwaar varga..
Mundeya nu suli utte tangi rakhda ve..
Mera nakhra hai teekhi talwaar varga..
As the music surged, Riahana's dance evolved into a display of skillful footwork and dynamic choreography. Her spins were swift and controlled, adding a whirlwind effect to her performance. The audience was captivated by her agility and the seamless transitions between intricate moves.
Towards the climax of the song, Riahana unleashed a series of high-energy moves that brought the crowd to its feet. Her charisma and stage presence were undeniable, turning what started as a challenge into a mesmerizing showcase of talent and determination.
By the time the song faded out, Riahana stood at the center of a thunderous applause, proving that she not only met Kiara's challenge but also exceeded expectations with her electrifying performance.
------
As Riahana's energetic hip-hop performance unfolded on stage, Kiara's initial amusement turned quickly to disbelief. She watched with a mixture of astonishment and irritation as Riahana effortlessly commanded the audience's attention with her precise movements and infectious enthusiasm.
As the whispers among the students grew louder, murmurs of "I think she's even better than Kiara" reached Kiara's ears like a sharp jab. It was a blow to her pride, accustomed to being the uncontested dance queen of the college. Each whisper felt like a dagger, questioning her supremacy on the dance floor.
Behind a strained smile, Kiara clenched her fists, feeling the sting of humiliation. She couldn't fathom how someone new, someone she barely knew, could upstage her so effortlessly. As the applause for Riahana grew louder, Kiara's facade cracked. She turned sharply away from the stage.
Avyan watched in awe as Riahana danced with such finesse, her every move captivating the audience. He couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration mixed with surprise at her hidden talent.
Riahana danced with passion and determination, oblivious to the murmurs and stares around her. With each beat of the music, she poured her heart into the dance, proving herself not just to the audience but also to herself.
Avyan couldn't tear his eyes away from Riahana, a newfound respect blossoming within him. He realized there was more to this girl than he had ever imagined, her spirit and talent shining brightly in that unexpected moment.
------
"Riaaaaaaaaaaa.."
Riahana heard her name while she was wiping off her sweat with a cloth and turned back. She found out it was none other than her friend Advika.
"Adviiiiii!" Riahana shouted back, hugging her tightly.
They are meeting eachother after almost 2 years. They missed eachother a lot. They talked on phone but , the feeling of meeting your best friend face to face is something different.
"Kya bhai!! Aag laga di tune toh, Kiara ki aankhein fatti ki fatti reh gayi thi!" Advika said, laughing.
"Um... tujhe us Kiara wali baat kaise pata chali?" Riahana asked curiously, as Advika wasn't present during their fight.
"Arre mujhe kya!! Pure college ko pata chal gaya hoga ab toh," Advika replied.
"What?? Kaise but?" Riahana asked, surprised.
"Yeh dekh," Advika said, showing her phone where a video of her fight with Kiara had gone viral in their college group.
Riahana was shocked to see it.
"Yaar, I didn't want this all... but vo ladki, kya naam bataya... Kiara ha, vo apni galti manne ko tayaar hi nahi thi! Fir vo mujhe stage pe le aayi toh mujhe yeh sab karna pada!" Riahana said, looking down.
"Arre, kyu dukhi hoti hai? Tune aag laga di stage pe!! Ab vo sab chhod, Shraddha se toh tu mili hi nhi! yeh na..." She was interrupted .
"She is your school friend, whom you met in 11th when you came here, she is so good in nature , she is so pretty..and so on, yeh sab tu mujhe pehele bata chuki hai, and we are friends!" Riahana said with a smile.
"haan, and I also know her very well, she your childhood bestie, you only introduced us to each other a long ago, bhul gyi?" Shraddha replied.
"Arre mai toh bhul hi gyi, ki Maine Tumhe bohut pehele hi milwa diya tha!" Advika said hitting herself playfully on her head.
"And, bro finally we are meeting, I still remember when we talked on video call for first time almost one and a half year ago, and then on we became friends! And I couldn't wait to meet you!" Shraddha exclaimed with excitement.
"Yeah, seriously same goes for me, I was so excited meet you!" Riahana replied in same tone matching her excitement level. They both hugged each other.
"Ab aap logo ka Bharat Milaw ho gya ho toh, class chale!" Advika asked in a playfull tone, and they all giggled.
"Yeah chal na, vese bhi bohut late ho gaya hai. I don't want ki mai apni class mai late ho!" Riahana said.
"Haa, chal mujhe bhi jana hai, late ho raha hai jaldi chal," Advika said, picking up her bag.
"Haan, haan, class ki jaldi hai ya kisi se milne ki hm??" Shraddha asked, teasing Advika.
Advika blushed and looked down.
"Oh ho, blushing and all ha, vese yeh 'kisi' kaun hai?" Riahana asked, teasing her more.
"Arre bataya toh tha maine tujhe call pe. Abhi class mai jaa, phir baad mai milwati bhi hu," Advika replied.
And they all went to their lecture hall.
------
Avyan's POV
I returned to my lecture hall after all that chaos. I was still surprised to see Riahana here; I hadn't expected her, and certainly not like this. I sat at my bench, thinking about her dance. The way she carried herself while dancing, how gracefully she moved her feet, how energetically she performed-it was captivating. Her dance had an infectious energy, each move precise and fluid, commanding everyone's attention effortlessly.
Surely, she made Kiara doubt herself. I smiled thinking about how some students were still outside because of the fest. I noticed her so much, but I don't think she saw me. It's better if we don't meet; otherwise, yaha bhi uski chillane wali awaaz sunni hogi. The last thing I need is another argument with her, especially now that she's in my college.
I was sitting alone as always, and honestly, I liked to sit alone. If someone is near me, it will be a distraction for me. So, it's better that nobody comes and sits near me. However, some girls try sometimes to sit near me, but I refuse them. For me, this is just a waste of time.
Just then, I heard approaching footsteps, and it was our professor. Our class started.
Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice asking to come inside.
"May I come in, sir?" she asked.I looked up only to find her standing there. Now you know who "her" is. It's Riahana , Is she in my class only ? No, no, no. Jiska Darr tha vhi hua .
"Umm, Riahana, right?" the professor asked.
"Yeah, sir, and I am really sorry for getting late. It's my first day, so I didn't know the path!" she said without any fear, so casually.
Now I wonder, here she is not getting nervous, but when she was near me, she was hell nervous. Why? Then I smiled, wondering what effect my touch had on her. What?? Why am I smiling??
"Umm.. it's okay, but from next time be careful!" the professor said.
She nodded and turned to my side... I mean to the class' side.
Everyone was looking at her , of course because of the morning chaos and that fighting video of her with Kiara, now everyone knows her very well .
She started walking to find a seat, and the whole class was filled. There was only one seat left, and that's mine. As she was walking towards me, I could feel my heart skip a beat seeing her in a beautiful short chikankari kurti and wide-leg jeans. She was wearing a kurti last night also, but it was a little different. I think she loves kurtis. As she moved closer, I could see a bit of kajal in her eyes. It was so subtle, like she didn't want anyone to notice it, but I did, and she was looking breathtaking.
What? Am I checking her out again? And also complementing that Miss Bakbak?
I thought she would come and sit near me, knowing that I was feeling annoyed that now I have to listen to her bakbak the whole time.
But my thoughts shattered as she stopped near a seat that was not mine.
It was...Kabir... KABIR MALHOTRA... A rich brat.
She stopped near him, and they both passed a smile seeing each other.
